Utica National was named in 2009 as one of the 50 top-performing
property-casualty insurance organizations in the United States by
the Ward Group. These Top 50 companies have excelled at balancing
safety, consistency, and performance over the past five years. Since
1991, Ward Group has analyzed the financial performance of over
2,700 property/casualty insurance companies domiciled in the United
States. The 2007 Ward’s 50 companies produced a 17.8 percent return
on average equity from 2002 to 2006, compared to 12.3 percent for

Fitch rating
Fitch Ratings, provider of financial-strength and debt ratings for

National "Aq." Most major investors have incorporated Fitch’s
ratings into their investment guidelines, and regulatory authorities

Utica is among an elite group of insurance companies named in 2008
as a “super regional” by Demotech, Inc. Demotech selected only 125
