Customer Support
Insurance is a service industry. That means our success depends
on how efficiently we process, issue, and service the many
thousands of transactions and inquiries that support our
policyholders. From assigning proper rates to issuing the actual
policy to troubleshooting problems, service professionals manage
the internal operations so important to the delivery of our
products.
Services employees support other departments and customers and
departments by:
- Processing policies, endorsements, changes and amendments to policies
- Performing cancellations
- Assisting agent/customers
- Distributing communications
Your day might also involve generating reports from outside
sources to determine whether or not a policy will be written.
When an insurance application arrives, it is services employees
who help it on its way from start to finish. In this high touch
environment, you will interact with agents, customers, and
employees from many other departments to get the job done.
Marketing
Utica National markets its products through independent
insurance agents who often represent several different insurance
companies. As a Marketing Representative, you’ll be assigned a
territory in which you work closely with the assigned
underwriters and support personnel internally and agency
personnel externally. Marketing Reps are risk takers and know
how to close the deal. Charged with profitably growing your
territory through agency appointments a Marketing Rep needs to:
- Be able to effectively market the company and its products in a competitive environment
- Have great interpersonal skills
- Be team-oriented to effectively partner with our independent agent-customer sales force

Risk Management
As part of its underwriting process, Utica National provides
initial and ongoing risk management services to its insureds as
part of our value-added franchise. Risk Management
Representatives work closely with our insureds in a field
environment and provide critical information to our underwriters
in assuring that risks are thoroughly evaluated and continue to
meet our underwriting guidelines. A Risk Management Rep must
have thorough understanding of construction, hazard
identification and the ability to partner with insureds to help
them minimize risk. To be effective in the role, a Risk
Management Rep must
- Be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of insureds
- Be thorough and investigative
- Have excellent interpersonal and written skills.
