Dane Austin is Vice President and Director of Risk and Reinsurance for the Utica National Insurance Group.

Mr. Austin, who joined Utica National’s Accounting department in 1979, held underwriting positions in the company’s Eastern Regional Office and National Accounts department prior to assuming the post of Reinsurance/Pools Underwriting Director in 1989 and Residual Markets Manager in 1996.

Following his appointment as Assistant Vice President and Personal Lines Operations Manager in 1998, he was promoted to Vice President and Director of Reinsurance in 2004. He assumed his current post as Director of Risk and Reinsurance in 2006.

Mr. Austin earned a bachelor’s degree in business/public management from SUNYIT at Utica/Rome as well as an A.A.S. degree in accounting from Mohawk Valley Community College.

He holds the Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Underwriting (AU), and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) professional designations.
