Robert Sherman serves as Senior Vice President and Senior Underwriting Officer for the Utica National Insurance Group.

Mr. Sherman joined the company in 1977 as an Underwriter in the Eastern Regional Office. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Sherman has held many supervisory and managerial positions. He was named Director of Commercial Casualty Underwriting in 1989, and Vice President of Underwriting in 1994. He earned officership appointments as Assistant Secretary in 1986, Assistant Vice President in 1989. Mr. Sherman was named Senior Underwriting Officer in 2003, and assumed his current rank of Senior Vice President in 2005.

Mr. Sherman earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Utica College of Syracuse University. Chairman of the New York Workers Compensation Insurance Rating Board of Governors, he holds the CPCU, AU, AIS, ARM, ARe, AIM, ALCM, APA and AFSB professional designations, as well as the Certificate in General Insurance.
