Steven E. Barry

Director of Research and Budget

Steven Barry serves as Assistant Vice President and Director of Research and Budget for the Utica National Insurance Group.

Mr. Barry joined Utica National in 1986 as a Research Analyst. Throughout his 15-year tenure with the company, Mr. Barry has held increasingly responsible positions within the Planning and Research department, including Senior Research Analyst and Supervising Research Analyst.

He was promoted to Director of Research in 1997 and named an officer of the company, as Assistant Secretary, the same year. Mr. Barry assumed his current post as Director of Research and Budget in 2000 and was appointed Assistant Vice President in 2004.

A graduate of the University of Bridgeport with a bachelor of science degree in banking and finance, Mr. Barry has completed course work at the University of Connecticut toward a master’s degree in business administration. He also holds the CPCU and ARP (Associate in Research and Planning) professional designations.

Mr. Barry, a member of the CPCU Society’s Utica Chapter, has served as vice president of the Utica Mutual Federal Credit Union’s board of directors since 1997.
