Having joined Founders in 1999, Ms. Abed initially served as Vice President and Corporate Counsel. In addition to her responsibility for corporate legal matters, she managed Founders’ commercial and homeowners claim unit, the litigated automobile claim unit, and human resources prior to being elected President in 2001.

Ms. Abed possesses more than 20 years experience in risk management and insurance, with an emphasis on claims. She holds a B.A. and J.D. from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, and is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. She has also completed some of the CPCU coursework.
