John A. Griffin
Resident Senior Vice President
Educational Institution Business Segment

Mr. Griffin serves as Resident Senior Vice President for Utica’s Educational Institution Business Segment.

He joined Utica National’s Eastern Regional Office (ERO) in 1974, where he held increasingly responsible positions within the region’s Underwriting department. He made the transition to National Accounts Underwriting Manager in 1979 and was named Vice President and General Manager of UNI-Service Risk Management Corporation in 1982.

Mr. Griffin returned to ERO as regional Underwriting Manager in 1986, the same year that he was named Assistant Secretary. He was named ERO’s Resident Vice President in 2004, and Resident Senior Vice President in 2009. He was named Resident Senior Vice President for Utica’s Educational Institution Business Segment in 2011.

A 1974 graduate of Utica College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Mr. Griffin holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), the Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) professional designations. He also is past president of the CPCU Society’s Utica Chapter.
